With my (walking) holiday in Süd Tirol over*), and with a few more days off from work left, it was time to return to the shed. In this case for removal of the sound deadening from one of the spare body shells that will be used to supply the necessary parts for the DHC’s damage repairs.
It was an afternoon with fairly hard labour. Mainly because the sound deadening pads were pretty well glued to the body shell. But with the correct tools all pads came of quite nicely in the end. Biggest problem with the removal of most of the pads being to get sufficient work space to start. The tools used being a rounded off putty knife, a gasket scraper and most important an adjustable 1800W heat gun.
There were no real horrors hidden underneath the sound deadening:
