Club Triumph's 10 Countries Run 2022

Due to circumstances no traditional report on the 10 Countries Run this time. Though it was a good event while it lasted, with the car performing faultlessly, including the brakes. A few pictures of the first few days of the event.

And the last picture of the car as she served me for over 12 years,
taken on the third day, on top of the Paso di Giau (I: 2022-09-08).

Sadly within an hour of the last picture being taken, I was caught by surprise by an oil or diesel spill in a narrow bend of the Passo Valparola (SP24), resulting in a head on collision with an oncoming SUV. Luckily no one was (seriously) injured. But the car got badly damaged.
At the time of me typing these words, the remains of the car are still on their way home. So I have no clear picture of the extent of the damage yet. And as a result no definitive answer if the damage can be repaired with the parts I have in stock. Or if I do have to scrap the car and use the remains as a parts donor. Time will tell …

Really sorry to see the damaged car but thankfully occupants are ok. If anyone can repair it I am sure you can do it.

Thx Russ, I hope it can be repaired. But to do it properly will cost a fair amount of money (should be covered by the insurance) but also time. And that last bit isn't covered. Only 24 hours in a day!

Looks like the bumper did not take much of the impact, the car sort of went under the other vehicle, so the frame may be OK. Hopefully it's just fenders, hood, radiator, headlamps, etc. Glad you are OK.

Really sorry to read this Theo but really glad no-one was seriously hurt, just goes to show how strong our cars are and if anyone can rebuild it it's you

Thx Moe, car's still on its way home.
So still no clear picture of the damage.
Hopefully I will know more in the next few weeks.
